WAGON BARN
This C18th barn had been converted to a two bed holiday let fourteen years ago.
The brief was to incorporate it into a larger home whilst retaining its individual character and form.
To achieve this the majority of the new building was constructed away from and connected to the barn with a shallow blade roof and glazed link.
The new accommodation is contained under two zinc barrel vaulted roofs with glazed ends, around a central stone stair tower modelled on an existing pigeon loft.
The building form defines three distinct external courtyards, the south facing walled kitchen garden, the entrance court and the private tiered garden to the rear overlooking the fields beyond.
