Baileys is a Grade II Listed four storey 18th Century town house , which had been unsympathetically extended in the past, and was in need of considerable structural and cosmetic attention. The owners wanted to modernise it whilst retaining its original character. We replaced some of the rear jumble of extensions with two simple shallow copper-roofed wings linking the kitchen and dining areas with the garden, and carried out extensive structural works, re-roofing, re-constructing dormers, re-building staircases and installing en-suite bathrooms to every room. We also restored an existing stone barn in the garden to form a new home office and guest suite, with an oak-framed curved glazed extension.
